Meet Denise

Educator. Writer. Food-as-Medicine Guide.
Here to help you heal your gut, clear your mind, and come home to yourself, one bean at a time.

Hi, I’m Denise.

For over two decades, I worked in education: first as a teacher, then as a school principal, and eventually as an assistant superintendent. I earned my doctorate in educational leadership, spent years researching and refining systems, and built a career helping people learn, grow, and lead.

But then… my body said stop.

Inflammation. Gut pain. Fatigue. Foggy thinking.
I knew how to lead others but I couldn’t hear myself. I didn’t feel clear. My energy was drained, and no one could give me an answer that truly helped.

So I did what I’d done my whole career: I started researching.
Only this time, the subject was me.

And what I found changed everything.

Why I Start With Beans

Beans saved me because they’re powerful.

Through the work of Karen Hurd, I learned about the incredible role soluble fiber plays in binding to bile, removing toxins, regulating hormones, and supporting the liver’s natural detoxification. Her course of “the 10 brothers” was a turning point in my healing and it gave me the clarity and framework I’d been searching for.

By simply adding beans into my daily meals, I began to reset my gut, reduce inflammation, stabilize my energy, and reconnect to my body’s cues.

And from that foundation of nourishment, everything started to shift.

I felt clearer. Calmer. Lighter. More me.

Now, I help others experience the same shift starting with beans, but never ending there.

You’re the Hero. I Can be Your Guide.

My philosophy is simple: You already have the answers.
But when your body is inflamed or out of balance, it’s hard to hear your own wisdom.
That’s where I come in.

I’m not here to fix you.
I’m here to guide you back to yourself, with practical tools and simple meal ideas. If you need deep support, we can discuss that, too.

This is no talk of perfection, rules, or willpower.
It’s about nourishment. Curiosity. Sovereignty. Clarity.

And yes, it starts with beans.
